Good things come for those who wait
After 20 years, Lego decided to put together what I find to be the only true successor of the greatest buggy of all time: the 1981 Dune Buggy (Set Nr 8845). Not much technic functionality here, just the steering 2 shocks absorbers a hoist, but the "wild" look compensates that.
The model is quite sturdy and very enjoyable to swoosh around. It's fun to see how the buggy can literally change shapes due to the incredible work of the suspension.
It's the same color scheme as the 4X4 Off-Roader (Set Nr 8466)but it's not on scale. I like to consider this set as the "little brother".
Now if only Lego could make a buggy like this but at the scale of the great car sets...
Score: 9/10
